~ Dollar Find Friday & Friday Night Chat ~

Join us tonight right HERE in the TSG forum for our Friday Night Chat!
Everyone is welcome and we love to meet new people :)

Good Morning! It's me, Sandra, here again and I have a quick and easy Dollar Find Friday idea for you today!
It's an altered clipboard!
I was in Staples a couple of weeks ago and while I was waiting for a print job to be done, I wandered around the store. And there, in the middle of the aisle, were these giant $1 bins with these adorable clipboards in them! Who knew Staples had $1 bins?! Not me, that's for sure! So I nabbed myself a couple of them because I knew they'd be perfect for today's project!
Here's what you'll need to create this clipboard:

Clipboard
Patterned Paper
Decorative Scissors or Edge Punch
Corner Punch of Border Die
Stamps
Glue
Paper File
Distress Inks

And here's how to make the altered clipboard:

This particular clipboard is exactly 6" wide, so I was able to use paper from my 6x6 pads (yay!), but if you're using 12x12 paper or anything larger, cut the paper to the width and length of the clipboard. (I used two sheets of 6x6 and butted them up against each other. The join is being covered up.) Instead of removing the clip from the board, I used a sharp blade to cut my paper so it would fit around it. Then with my tape runner, or liquid glue, adhere the paper to the clipboard. Once the liquid glue is dry, use a paper or nail file to lightly sand the edges of the board. This removes any excess paper and gives the board a nice edge to it.

You can sponge the edges of the clipboard if you like, but I chose not to.

Once that's done, just add what you want to decorate the clipboard! Since I am giving this one to my little girl (who LOVES to write and draw), I used images from the Believe In You set to decorate mine. I also used the 'You're Amazing' sentiment from the Sentimental set and the stitches around the edges came from the In Stitches set.
This clipboard took me about 2 hours to make. Which is wayyyyy less time then it takes me to make a card! Haha! This would make a great project for craft fairs, or maybe a gift for a teacher! The possibilities are endless!
I hope you enjoyed this Dollar Find Friday! Have a FABULOUS weekend!
